I don't think at all.
Yes
AS ALWAYS THEIR FOOD IS THE BOMB.I GETS BETTER EVERY TIME I GO THERE.THE PEOPLE ARE SO FRIENDLY AND WELCOMING. THEY MAKE YOU FEEL LIKE FAMILY. THE ONLY AUTHENTIC MEXICAN RESTAURANT IN MY OPINION THAT IS IN THIS TOWN.ALL HOME COOKED FOOD.
Awesome place great food like home made. Nice staff. Very friendly.
Great food, like eating in a museum.
Loved this place very nostalgic
Found this place after a long drive through the Gila mountains. The staff is friendly and the decorations are fun to look at.We only ordered from the Mexican section of the menu, and even though it wasn't the most authentic, it hit the spot. Some of the sauces are pretty salty, but overall I enjoyed the food. The Chile rellenos were delicious. The sopapillas are freshly made and great with a little honey. With the limited choices in this town, I think this is the right spot.
Fun place to visit. Food is good, enjoyed fresh green chili sauce. Allow some time to look around!
I ordered a meal that had the option of adding meat to it but I declined as I’m vegetarian (I made to clear to the waiter that I did not want any meat). When the food came out it clearly had pork in it. I pointed this out and they took it back and prepared a fresh one. However, this one came out still with pork in it just less. I don’t know if the chef had some sort of vendetta but it’s quite unprofessional. Wouldn’t recommend but the food I did try from my family’s dishes was pretty good
Nice place to get something to eat in the area, within a very authentic setting! Friendly staff and good food at a decent price! Also serves beer :-)!However, look out where you go and sit during rainy days, as some parts of the roof were leaking!
Woohoo, the food is excellent, plenty to eat, the waiter is really nice. You need to go there, reasonably priced. Woohoo, Glory to my Heavenly Father, JESUS said you must be born again to enter the Kingdom of GOD, are you born again??,JESUS loves you so much, please accept him as your personal SAVIOR today.❤❤🙏🙏
Great customer service and food. Interior decorations is just awesome.
Don't let the outside appearance turn you away. We stopped for lunch and had tacos and stuffed sopapia dinner both were exceptionally good. Wait staff was attentive and helpful.
Great food. Great service
The steak I ordered was seasoned really well, the portion was massive and the staff is friendly. Much love. ❤️
Good honest food served by attentive and polite staff. Served me late after Butterworth steak house turned me away at 9pm despite advertising as open until 10pm. Loads of fascinating Americana to look at while you eat.
The tamale combo topped with green chili was delicious. I was traveling thru and stopped here. Service was great. I'm more accustomed to New Mexican style food and this little place triggered good memories.
Excellent food! Go for the green chili breakfast burrito. Yum!
We stopped here on tour and it was OK. The chips and salsa were good - I really enjoyed the tacos (I got a big ol combo plate that had an enchilada, a taco, a tamale and a tostada).Probably some of the best food in town - but compared to other Mexican places it was ok.The service was fine - the sopapillas were awful - thick and dense and almost burnt....All in all not a bad experience but not fantastic.
Food and service was below average. The decor is fun to look at. A sign outside says"Best food in town". I have not been to every restaurant in town but I doubt that this is the best food in town.
Fun atmosphere with lots to keep you entertained. Server smiling and helpful. The red chili sauce was excellent. Green chili sauce ok. The beans very good. The rice overcooked and forgetable. Fry bread limp. Will stick to the red chili menu items.
Laid back tiny spot. Food was good. Seems to be family owned. Menu kinda hard to read & no queso. Friendly service good food
Really nice cozy place, food was really good, green chili the best, We recommend this place 100%, nice friendly people
Really cozy place with nice old fashioned decoration. The burrito breakfast was amazing. Great staff.
I like eating here. It's not for everyone. The food is decent. I love looking at all their artifacts. I wish the place was a bit cleaner and had better lighting. It would get 5 stars then. I'll still suggest it for Route 66 tourists but probably wouldn't for other people.
My coworker recommended this place while traveling northern Arizona. So glad she told me, the chile rellenos were amazing. The rice and beans were delicious as well. Very unique atmosphere of antiques, old articles, old photos, & street signs. The waiter was very polite & attentive. They also have a gift shop. Definitely will stop by the next vacation.
Food was great. Easily accessible from the road. I40 is just a couple blocks.
Good service and pretty cool place
Lots of variety in the menu, great friendly service.
Excellent enchiladas and the sopapillas are to die for. The staff is always friendly. A must for us when we go through Holbrook.
Quick service, good food, interesting decor. The Maestas burger needs eaten with a fork. The bathrooms are a little run down but clean.
I ate her one time and have not nor will I ever go back. The atmosphere was glum and the feeling of the entire place just off putting. The food was sure memorable... On the yuck side of my memory. Not a suggested go to. That and there is s creepy rabbit outside. He just seems to glare at me.
Great! Little big American-Mexican restaurant, good plain traditional cuisine of both kinds, very nice people. Definitely a good choice in town for a no-frills but good value-for-money dinner.
Oh my gosh the sign outside says best Mexican food in town...I started to laugh and told my wife it's the only Mexican food in townBut I will tell you this my friends if you ever leave the Petrified Forest and you're on your way to Flagstaff this place is the best Mexican food I have ever hadNow I'm not sure what you ate and if you liked it but I live 2 hours from the border in San Antonio Texas and this is the best Mexican food I have ever ate in my lifeI had the Nacho taco or excuse me the Navajo taco and my child and wife had whatever they had and we all left their So Satisfied the waitress was from there live there and the staff was just totally off the charts I don't know if I can even covers it but thank you thank you thank you it was the best food I had in a very very long time
I love this place! The Green Chili cheese Fries are my absolute favorite. I always stop here when I'm passing through. The staff is super friendly and there is plenty of neat things that capture the history of the old west to look at.
Pretty good food. Served hot. Coffee could be a bit stronger. I can honestly say I've never been in a restaurant that didn't have either Tabasco or Cholula. They had their own salsa. Got full for a decent price.
We were vacationing in Arizona & New Mexico. We wanted a homemade cafe style food so we stopped at this junkyard type restaurant. That should have been our first clue! We sat down. The restaurant is filthy. My food order was flautas. They were burned to a crisp, and not edible. And the chicken inside them was like jerky. I didn’t eat a whole one, the order was 3 and ate the beans and rice, cause how you going to screw that up? The best thing they served was the ice water. So if you need a drink of iced cold water, this is your place. If you want to eat, go elsewhere. I don’t know what their problem was, the staff seemed friendly enough. But it needs to be cleaned from top to bottom and I guess that’s the owners choice. Whatever.......I usually don’t give scathing reviews, but the public be warned.
Service was great, food was not good. Expensive for food that sat for awhile and was not even heated through when they brought it to the table
Yum yum yum! Crunchy, perfectly seasoned beef chimichanga. Fresh food and fresh personalities. Comes with some chips and salsa. Lots and lots of various memorabilia scattered beautifully throughout the restaurant. There's also an area were you can purchase geodes, petrified wood, and gifts.
Very delicious salad, other than the dressing wasn't quite the way I like it. I'm going to go back and easy there instead of take out so I can look at all the cool stuff.
There's this rule of thumb to follow when looking for quality food. The place should look old, like it's been holding up. Following this, one would naturally say this place is the way to go. Well, forget that rule because this place makes you want to eat concrete. Order is mixed up, it's overpriced, food is as basic as a 12 year old white girl growing up in the suburbs of Pennsylvania. Don't bother passing to use the restroom either... Just take my word in this one.
Wow, great burritos and old stuff to gawk at: my kinda place!
Had my first ever meatloaf. It was delicious. The shop/cafe is cute with all its antiques displayed around. Good value as well.
Four stars for great value. Food was okay, for the price. Was expected something a little more authentic. I'm pretty sure the beans were Rosarita. Nothing wrong with Rosarita beans; they're delicious but was hoping for something more... Not tasting like they came out of a can. The meat in the tacos were okay but again needed more seasoning in our opinion. The enchilada style burrito was again, okay. Apparently enchilada style here means covered in raw onions, a dash of shredded cheese, and a little bit of enchilada sauce on top. If it wasn't for the prices, which were amazingly low, I'd give it two stars. But can't complain too much due to overall value. Other offerings in Holbrook. Won't be going back.
Brook was a friendly server and the breakfast food was great. Pancakes were thick, eggs cooked well to my liking, hash brown's were very good and ham wasn't as thick as I would have liked it, but I would come back.
Really good food - fluffiest tamales I’ve ever had. Also the fry bread is excellent. They’re fluffy and have salt, which not all fry bread does (making it bland), so the fry bread here is delicious. Chimichangas are also very good - well seasoned. FYI - the red sauce is enchilada sauce and not a red salsa. I’m not fond of enchilada sauce, so in future I’d stick w the green which was very good. Planning to stop here again on our drive back.
The meatloaf was really good. This place looks somewhat rough from the outside but lots of interesting things to look at while eating. They have both Mexican and American food. We weren't sure from the outside. I took a picture of the menu that was missing from the pictures on here so hopefully that helps somebody.
Such good fry bread and Navajo tacos!! Passed through and loved the friendly staff our server was awesome!
Nice and very particular place where to eat mexican plates. Good prices but food should be better.
A genuine experience, rich in history, with amazing food and an eclectic gift shop of plants and local crafts. Well worth the visit and worth going out of your way to find!
The hype didn't measure up. Odd collectibles, interesting. One server, cheery but behind the curve of service. Chips & Salsa, but salsa Very bland. Ordered a Corona & lime, finished beer before lime arrived 10 mins later. Ordered Chili Rellemos, ok, but again, sauces we're 'off'... no excuse for that, as there's a heavy Latin population locally. But the weirdest thing was the rice & #!_@ that accompanied the plate... soggy rice swimming in ketchup! Yuck! The gal brought me extra refried beans when I told her that glop, was Not Spanish Rice. Cook needs a come to Jesus meeting asap. We'll live, but this a far cry from Mexican food.
Amazing food! Great prices! The atmosphere was very vintage. I'd definitely recommend this place!
